10AM -1PM AUTHOR EXPO: Join us on the library’s north lawn to meet local authors, network with writers, and purchase their books!
10-10:30AM STORY TIME: Meet Miss Sarah on the Sump Front Lawn for a bookish story time at 10 a.m.! Then, stick around and design your own book cover at the craft tables. This storytime will take place outside, weather permitting. If not outside, it will take place in the Youth Department outside the Play and Learn Center.
11AM-12PM HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BOOKSTORES PANEL: Meet the independent bookstores of the metro area and hear their unique perspectives on the book industry, how the shops differ, and how consumers can best support bookstores in our digital age. The booksellers may even share a book recommendation or two! Participating bookstores include The Bookworm, Dundee Book Co., The Next Chapter, and The Book Nook. 1PM - 2:30PM HUMANITIES NEBRASKA: THE WOMEN WHO BUILT OMAHA: Professor Emeritus Eileen Wirth will discuss her newest book, The Women Who Built Omaha, which profiles the athletes, suffragists, madams, and bootleggers who transformed the city’s parks, co-founded Creighton University, helped run Boys Town, and so much more in the South Meeting Room at Sump. Humanities Nebraska (HN) provides major funding for this program. HN receives support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Nebraska State Legislature, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and private donations. Find the separate speaker event page here.

2:30PM - 4PM ADULT WRITING WORKSHOP: Beginner and intermediate adult writers are invited to explore their craft with instruction by Bridget Lillethorup of the Nebraska Writers Collective in the Sump Conference Room. The workshop will last 90 minutes and seats are limited. Registration required here.
2:30PM - 4PM TEEN WRITING WORKSHOP: Join Rachel Luck of the Nebraska Writers Collective for a teen writing workshop! This workshop is a friendly, welcoming space for new or experienced writers ages 13-18. The workshop will last 90 minutes and seats are limited. Registration required here.
5:30-7:30PM LITERARY TRIVIA NIGHT: Get your nose out of a book and see if all that reading will pay off at Literary Trivia. Gather a team of up to 4 people for trivia with Adult Services Librarian Shelby Brodersen and Carl Erickson of The Bookworm. Space is limited, so register your team here today!
